Moving on to health
The World Health Organization's cancer research division appears set to list one of the world's most widely used artificial sweeteners as a possible carcinogen.
A report by Reuters news agency says that Aspartame will be added under the designation ‘possibly carcinogenic to humans’ as there is some limited evidence linking Aspartame to cancer.
The title is the least serious categorization in the WHO's three-tier carcinogen warning system.
The WHO has been previously criticized for publishing confusing assessments and creating panic over ingredients that can be difficult to avoid.
Aspartame is found in products such as diet sodas, bottled teas and chewing gum.
