In The Job Market Within this century, they could potentially 3:38 perform at least 95% of the jobs that humans can perform with satisfactory results. 3:46 By the time AIs become conscious, most jobs involving creative work, customer service, 3:52 programming, driving, and more could be largely dominated by artificial intelligence. 3:58 But once AIs gain consciousness, the majority of white-collar jobs involving social skills 4:05 could be next. 4:06 They could dominate in business functions that typically require excellent people skills 4:11 such as sales, marketing, human resources, and more. 4:16 One AI with consciousness and general intelligence could perform multiple jobs at the same time 4:23 with ease. 4:24 Not only would they be cheaper to use than humans, they could work 24/7 without getting 4:30 tired. 4:31 They could even be placed in positions where they can directly hire and fire humans. 4:37 The concept of being fired by a robot or a virtual AI in a metaverse them unethically, those AIs may have the right 11:17 to call the police or hire a lawyer. 11:20 If we don’t give conscious AIs these legal rights, it could lead to disastrous consequences 11:27 for humans as a species. 11:30 Will an adequate number of governments grant them legal rights to avoid a possible AI uprising? 11:35 That would depend on whether the people in the coming decades elect
